BAZAAR DEL MUNDO
Bazaar del Mundo Shops in Old Town
Bazaar del Mundo (literally meaning "marketplace of the world") takes visitors beyond the South of the border fare with events, exhibits and merchandise from many lands and cultures. Bazaar del Mundo is an Old Town landmark, that has generated most of the tourist traffic that comes to Old Town. Owned by Diane Powers, the Bazaar del Mundo was once located inside Old Town State Historic Park, however Diane lost her lease and relocated the shops and restaurants to Taylor and Juan Streets, just outside the park, but still in Old Town San Diego, behind Casa de Guadalajara restaurant. The Bazaar’s specialty shops overflow with treasures from around the globe. At Bazaar del Mundo Shops find latin American pottery, dinnerware, fabrics, books, confections, and arts and crafts. Patrons of the Bazaar's former location will recognize many of the same shops at the new location, including The Gallery, Laurel Burch Gallerita, Ariana, Artes de Mexico, Guatemala Shop and more, as well as popular dining at Diane Powers' beautiful Casa Guadalajara Mexican restaurant, right next door.
